Dear Parents
With the final game and closing ceremony of the 2011 Victoria Avenue School Rippa Rugby World Cup this afternoon we bring down the curtain on two weeks of outstanding sporting and cultural celebrations.
The School and Zones Cross-Country, the Arts Extravaganza and our Rugby World Cup Festival have all been hugely successful and wonderful exhibitions of both our children’s talents and our community spirit. It would be impossible to run such events without the commitment and support of staff and parents. On behalf of the children a big THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed in any way to these events.
Each event, in its own way, demonstrates all that is best about VAS – children, staff and parents working together to really make a difference. Whatever your favourite moment has been I am sure it will live long in the memory. I do hope however that the Rugby results yesterday weren’t a forerunner of things to come – Namibia victorious over the All Blacks …yeah right!
North Island Ski Champs
Next week a group of children and parents head down to Mt Ruapehu to take part in the North Island Primary School Ski Championships at Whakapapa. We wish them good snow and good luck. If you would like to follow their progress results will be posted on the event’s website each evening during the week http://www.nipsskichamps.org.nz.
