| Allan Short ~ Principal |
![]() Responsibilities at school: Principal - which really means being responsible for everything! Years Teaching: 23 years (ouch that makes me feel old!). Seven years New Zealand teaching and sixteen in the UK. My professional interests: My Maths and Psychology background has meant I have always been interested in Brain Research and Cognitive Education (Thinking Skills). How we learn best using different cognitive tools. Things I really enjoy about my job: School is such a happy and energising place, full of creative, interesting and exciting people, staff and children. Favourite Food: The hardest question...I love my food! Indian food is fantastic, pasta is wonderful but it is hard to beat a perfect medium rare steak with a glass of fine red wine! Favourite Colour: Red When not at school I enjoy: Relaxing with my family (although relaxing is a somewhat subjective term when you have 4 children at home!) My Favourite Holiday would be: Somewhere warm, by the sea with time to read, relax and think about absolutely nothing! I always wanted to be: A professional footballer for my hometown team Liverpool. I am passionate about: Our wonderful planet, my family; my friends and Liverpool Football Club Famous for: Knowing useless bits of trivia If I could invite three people from history to dinner they would be: Bill Shankly, Dawn French, Sir Winston Churchill (if fictional characters were allowed I'd invite Inspector Morse) |
