Victoria Avenue School is part of the Auckland City Council Chaos at the School Gate programme. This programme has been very successful and is helping to reduce the danger to children as well as improve traffic flow around schools at this busy time of the day.
As a school we are looking to address these "Chaos at the School Gate" issues. We have a number of incentives in place already; notably the Walking School Buses.
The more we can encourage children to walk to school, the healthier they will be. The traffic congestion problem will also be substantially alleviated.

WOW ~ Walking on Weekdays
As our walk to school promotion this term we are offering students the opportunity to join the WOW programme run by Auckland City Council.
WOW stands for Walking On Weekdays. It’s all about walking to school on a regular basis. It is easy to take part in WOW, you might be doing it already! |
